Big Thunder Ranch Halloween Carnival

School got out early all week for conferences, so the girls headed to Disneyland!  We wanted to check out the Halloween carnival at Big Thunder Ranch.

First Golf Lesson

The girls are joining their friend Francis and taking golf lessons.  It is through a program called The First Tee.  Thankfully, they let Nicolette join even though she is technically not old enough.  Their lessons are at a course where Daddy has taken a lesson before.  Coach Bates was very good with the kids.

Sharing Orka Poster

In light of St. Francis Day, the kids were allowed to sign up to bring in and share their pets.  Nicolette made a poster about Orka and was so happy to show her class.  She even made her own pointer to use, instead of using the class ones.  The teacher thought that was fantastic!

Swimming Accomplishments Galore!

Today, was quite the day for swimming accomplishments!  Nicolette started going under water on her own (she did it a few times last week) a whole bunch of times and thought it was fun!  Here is a video of her (6/23):

Next, Gabrielle tried out the pool's swim test and passed on her first try!  She had to swim freestyle across the pool without putting her feet down and using side breathing.  Kids that are under 8 that pass the swim test are allowed to swim in the family area without having to be right next to their parents and are also allowed on the diving boards.  One swim test is good for the whole summer.  Here is a video of her test (6/23):

Jog-A-Thon Fun!

The girls had a blast at the jog-a-thon today!  Gabrielle has been excited about it since she found out about it.  Nicolette got so excited when it started and wanted to run too.  So, in her usual great big sister fashion, Gabrielle took her hand and ran with her for the whole 20 minutes!  She even made sure to get some water for Nicolette along the way as well as making sure they both got their rubber bands on their wrists as they passed through the checkpoint (that's how the school keeps track of how many laps they run).  Gabrielle ended up with 17 rubber bands and Nicolette got 13.

Grandpa's Girls

Grandpa loved to hear that the girls kept asking to go to Home Depot around Christmas.  This may not be exactly how Grandpa spends his time there, but these girls were loving it and he was happy to hear it!
