Jog-A-Thon Fun!

The girls had a blast at the jog-a-thon today!  Gabrielle has been excited about it since she found out about it.  Nicolette got so excited when it started and wanted to run too.  So, in her usual great big sister fashion, Gabrielle took her hand and ran with her for the whole 20 minutes!  She even made sure to get some water for Nicolette along the way as well as making sure they both got their rubber bands on their wrists as they passed through the checkpoint (that's how the school keeps track of how many laps they run).  Gabrielle ended up with 17 rubber bands and Nicolette got 13.

Grandpa's Girls

Grandpa loved to hear that the girls kept asking to go to Home Depot around Christmas.  This may not be exactly how Grandpa spends his time there, but these girls were loving it and he was happy to hear it!

Cady's Mom, Patti, had a special Kindergarten Playdate at the park for playgroup the Monday before school started.  Everyone brought treats (finger Jello sea creatures were a hit!), she read some books about going to Kindergarten, and played some games.

Our Big Preschool Bean!

Our Little Beanie is growing up and off to Preschool she goes!  In her first day of school outfit from Grandma and Grandpa M., she trotted off without hesitation!  She surprised us all and didn't show any signs of concern when we left and she didn't want to leave when Mommy and Sissy picked her up.  She wanted to keep taking toys out!

The day before, at Playgroup, we brought popsicles to celebrate the big Preschooler: (8/7)

Nicolette and her friend Janae were being so cute playing together.  Not sure what was going through their heads here, but they ran over and looked between their legs a couple times!  They are so silly! (Mommy just asked her and Nicolette says they are being froggies!)

Gabrielle got her started with a stamp.  She was so sweet making sure Nicolette had something to play with and felt comfortable in her old room before we left:

After her first day.  (Notice the paint on her outfit, a sign of a good day at preschool!  Don't worry Grandma, it came out!)  She said she liked painting and the monkey bars.  She said that she wanted to go back the next time and play with more friends.

Later that evening, we took a picnic to Temescal Canyon for some campfire fun.  The firemen were there that night to talk about fires. Here, one lit a fire around the campfire on the ground and then they showed us how they put it out with a shovel and dirt.
